Welcome back! Today, I’m stepping away from the workshop and flying field to take another look at RC Market Space – a platform that’s much more than just a website. It’s a growing community for RC enthusiasts that launched just a few months ago and has already undergone some impressive improvements.
For those who follow my content, you’ll remember I reviewed this platform back in January, shortly after launch. Since then, the team has implemented numerous updates based on community feedback, and I’ve also got an exclusive sneak peek at an upcoming feature that I believe will be a game-changer. Let’s dive in!
What Is RC Market Space?
RC Market Space (rcmarketspace.com) is essentially built around three main pillars:
- Marketplace: Buy and sell RC aircraft, cars, and components
- Forums: A community discussion area that’s steadily growing
- News: A relatively new section featuring events and articles
What really impresses me is that the platform is completely free to use – free to sign up, free to list adverts, and free to participate in the forums. I can’t emphasise this enough, so I’d definitely encourage everyone to make the most of it whilst it remains this way.
The Marketplace: A Global RC Community
When you browse the marketplace, you’ll immediately notice the international scope. Within just a few scrolls, I spotted listings from the United States, Spain, Switzerland, Israel, China, and the UK. It’s brilliant to see RC enthusiasts from around the world coming together on one platform, all united by our shared addiction to radio-controlled models!
Improved Search and Filtering
The search functionality has been significantly enhanced since launch. You can now:
- Search by category with live counts showing how many items are listed
- Filter by location (simply type in a country like “UK” to see local listings)
- Browse everything from turbine engines to F3A models, chargers, and complete aircraft
The team is continuing to refine the main search feature based on user feedback, making it even more powerful.
New Features Worth Highlighting
Several significant improvements have been added since my initial review:
Multiple Currency Support: You can now display prices in your local currency rather than just USD. Sellers can set their preferred currency (GBP, EUR, USD, and other common currencies), making international transactions much clearer.
Up to 20 Images Per Listing: This was a direct response to community feedback. Previously more limited, sellers can now upload up to 20 photographs and even drag them around to reorder them. This is particularly useful for showing different angles, internal components, or detail shots.
YouTube Video Integration: You can embed YouTube videos directly into your listings. Whether it’s assembly footage or flight videos, this adds tremendous value for potential buyers. Don’t worry if you don’t have YouTube – it’s entirely optional, but it’s a nice touch for those who do.
In-Platform Messaging: Rather than sharing your phone number publicly, you can communicate with buyers or sellers directly through the platform’s messaging system. Simply click to send a message asking questions about the model, requesting flight videos, or negotiating terms.
Star Ratings and Reviews: This is a new feature, so don’t worry if sellers don’t have ratings yet – it takes time to build up. However, you can now view seller ratings, read reviews from previous buyers, and even see what else a seller has listed. There’s also a verified seller badge for added confidence.
Report Function: If you encounter problems with a seller, you can now report them. This is crucial for building trust in the community, especially compared to the issues we often see on Facebook marketplace.
Creating a Listing: How Easy Is It?

I walked through the process of creating a listing (using my old Extreme Flight Extra NG 91 as an example), and it’s remarkably straightforward:
- Select your category (prop planes, warbirds, RC cars, etc.)
- Add the brand and condition
- Choose your currency and set your price
- Indicate whether the price is negotiable – I rather like this feature, as it sets clear expectations
- Write your description (emojis are supported if that’s your thing!)
- List key features separately for clarity
- Upload up to 20 images and embed YouTube videos if desired
- Set your contact preferences and location
- Publish for free, or opt for a featured listing (ÂŁ8 for 7 days) or sponsored listing (ÂŁ14 for 14 days)
The whole process took just minutes, and the listing looked professional immediately.
Privacy Settings Done Right

I was particularly impressed to see that RC Market Space has implemented comprehensive privacy controls from day one:
- Choose whether to show your WhatsApp button on adverts
- Hide or display your email address
- Enable PayPal integration for secure payments (excellent for international transactions)
- Control whether your phone number appears on ads
- Decide if your exact location is visible
- Option to delete your account entirely if it’s not for you
The WhatsApp integration is particularly clever, as it’s such a common communication platform globally. PayPal integration provides peace of mind for anyone concerned about transferring money internationally.
The Forums: Building Community

Whilst the marketplace naturally gained traction quickly, the forums are now starting to flourish as well. In my experience, forums always take longer to build momentum, but there’s already some excellent content appearing.
I spotted a fantastic F-14D cockpit rebuild thread with over 600 views, where the builder documented creating a super-scale cockpit from scratch, complete with photographs of the original references and work-in-progress shots. There’s also an F-16 Triple XXL installation thread and various other build logs.
The beauty of forums is that you can follow along with projects, ask questions, and share your own builds – whether that’s something as complex as a super-scale cockpit or a simpler project.
News Section: Events and Articles
This is a fairly new addition that I think deserves more prominence on the site. It contains two valuable subsections:
Events Calendar
This is genuinely useful – a comprehensive listing of RC events happening around the world. From Joe Nall to night flight contests, F3A World Cups to local club events, there are pages upon pages of listings.
A bit of constructive feedback: I’d love to see a calendar widget or filtering options by country and date. Being able to view upcoming events in a calendar format or filter to show only UK events, for example, would be tremendously helpful.
Articles
RC Market Space is now commissioning articles from community members. I’m currently contributing a beginner series covering topics like:
- Getting into the hobby
- Understanding the basics of RC flight
- Receivers and transmitters explained
- RTF (Ready to Fly) vs BNF (Bind and Fly) vs PNP (Plug and Play) – the pros and cons of each
This isn’t a shameless plug – I simply think it’s excellent that they’re building out educational content to support the community, particularly newcomers to the hobby. I’m confident we’ll see more contributors adding their expertise soon.
The Game-Changer: Mobile App Preview
Now for the exclusive bit – I’ve been given access to the design screens for the upcoming mobile application, and I genuinely believe this will transform the platform.
Let’s be honest: we’re all accustomed to doing things on our phones these days. Being able to browse listings whilst out and about, receive notifications about new adverts, respond to questions about your own listings, and participate in forums – all from a mobile app – will be absolutely brilliant.
What to Expect from the App:
- Authentication: Login via Google, Apple, or standard credentials
- Home Screen: Latest adverts with featured and sponsored listings at the top, plus quick filters and powerful search
- Full Forum Access: Follow threads, like posts, respond to questions, and fully engage with the community
- Integrated Messaging: Just like the web platform, communicate directly with buyers and sellers
- Account Management: Full control over your profile and settings
- Easy Listing Creation: Upload images and create listings directly from your phone
- News and Articles: I’m fairly certain (about 90%) that the news section will be available in the app as well
The design screens look polished and intuitive. Given that the vast majority of us are more likely to use our phones than sit down at a computer, I think this mobile app will significantly boost engagement with the platform.
Final Thoughts
As a former software developer, I truly appreciate how much work goes into building and iterating on a platform like this. The team launched around the end of December 2024 or start of January 2025, and they’ve been consistently releasing updates and new features whilst simultaneously growing their user base.
What impresses me most is their responsiveness to community feedback. When users requested more images per listing, they implemented it. When multiple currency support was needed, they added it. This willingness to listen and adapt is exactly what builds successful platforms.
I’m definitely planning to use RC Market Space next time I’m selling aircraft, and I’m enjoying contributing articles to help both newcomers and experienced flyers. With the mobile app on the horizon, I wouldn’t be surprised if, within the next 12 to 18 months, this becomes the go-to platform for the RC community.
My Ask to You
Please go and check out RC Market Space (link in the description). Even if you’ve nothing to sell right now, browse the forums, look at some of the incredible models listed for sale – like that jaw-dropping Sky Master F-14D super-scale jet – and consider getting involved in the community.
Tell your fellow RC enthusiasts about it. Platforms like this need community support to truly take off, and whilst it’s definitely gaining momentum with people successfully buying, selling, and contributing, the more of us who participate, the stronger it becomes.
Good work to the RC Market Space team – keep it going! I look forward to checking in again in a few months to see what else you’ve accomplished. Until next time, happy flying!
